Nov 16, 2022: BJPs CM Candidate Bhupendra Patel files nomination

Summary: Bhartiya Janta Party’s CM Candidate Bhupendra Patel filed his nominations from Ghatlodiya assembly seat today. Amit Shah, India’s Home Minister accompanied Bhupendra Patel, when  Bhupendrabhai went to submit his nomination form.

Home Minister Amit Shah and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel conducted a roadshow in Ahmedabad on November 16 as the latter was on his way to file his nomination papers from the Ghatlodia constituency for the upcoming state elections. Notably, tomorrow (November 17) is the last day for filing the nominations.

Amit Shah declared that Patel will continue to remain the Chief Minister of Gujarat if Bharatiya Janata Party regains power in the next month’s Assembly elections. Earlier in September 2021, Patel had replaced Vijay Rupani as the Chief Minister of the State.

BJP is seeking seventh consecutive term in the state. Elections for the 182-member Gujarat Assembly will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5. The counting of votes will be taken up on December 8.
