Wednesday, 30th November 2022: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeted Congress for using intemperate language against the Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi. He said,” The old party (i.e. Congress) should understand that the PM is not just a person, but an institution.” He said that criticism of policies and programs is welcome, but not personal attacks.

At Balasinor, he asked whether Congress had not attacked the self-respect of Gujarat by using foul language against Modiji.   

A local court in Bharuch on Wednesday, 30th November 2022, convicted Ankur Patel, an AAP candidate in Ankleshwar, to six months imprisonment in a cheque bounce case.

DATA from ELECTION COMMISSION: Gujarat Election 2022: “While the final voting figure was awaited, the average turnout stood provisionally at 60.23 per cent,” the Election Commission (EC) said.

The voter turnout was less than 66.75 per cent recorded in the first phase of the 2017 Assembly polls.

According to the Election Commission as per the provisional figures, Narmada district recorded the highest voter turnout at 73.02 per cent, followed by Tapi district at 72.32 per cent. The tribal-dominated district comprises two Assembly constituencies of Vyara and Nizar. Bhavnagar in Saurashtra region recorded the lowest turnout of 51.34 per cent as of 5 pm.

As many as eight districts recorded more than 60 per cent voting. Surat registered 60.17 per cent turnout and Rajkot 57.69 per cent, according to EC data.

The office of Chief Electoral Officer said in a statement,”Around 0.1 per cent ballot units, 0.1 per cent control units and 0.3 per cent VVPATs have been replaced in three hours of voting. Reserve machine sets are available in all districts with the zonal officer in-charge of that area. Wherever a small or big problem occurs, arrangements have been made to replace them in no time.”
