Wednesday, Dec 14, 2022

Amnesty International has said that 11 people have been sentenced to death over the protests. At least another nine, including Mr Nasr-Azadani, a football player of repute, face the death penalty.

The protestors against the compulsory wearing of Hijab are charged with the crime of “moharabeh”. Moharbeh means “waging war against God”. This ‘crime’ carries death penalty.

Teheran judiciary has announced that 400 persons have also been given sentences from 2 years to 10 years for ‘rioting’ during the anti-Hijab agitation. The agitation has been going on in about 80 cities.

APPEAL to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: The Prime Minister had said that Canada stands behind the freedom-loving women of Iran. DiGiNews360 requests the Prime Minister of Canada to offer asylum to all the 20 persons, who face the death penalty in Iran, according to Amnesty International.
