Nigeria has enormous resources in Human and Natural resources. Unlike India with a stable democracy dedpite neighboring threats,Nigeria major problem is internal insecurity due to diversity and ethnicity.Nigeria has witnessed several Oil booms in the early seventies, early nineties and most recently 2010-2015.It was a period Nigeria daily output and sale of Crude Oil(Bonny light) exceed 2 million barrels a day. With incessant unrest in the Niger delta, sometimes the current output drops to under a million barrels per day.
Nigeria govt target a 1.5 Trillion Dollar GDP by 2026, but it all depends on situations in the Niger Delta and Global energy stability. The present government has invested a lot on Infrastructures, encouraging private sector to invest in deep sea port, investment in Refineries with Dangote Petro chemical, a private entity now on test run of its Urea plant and Petrochemical. It Has capacity to Refine 600,000 barrels of crude daily, the biggest in sub Sahara Africa. I believe if the youths can come with a formidable force, allow democracy to thrive and be active partners not facebook politicians, Nigeria will join the global economy giants in the G-20 sooner than later. Security of life and properties is very paramount now,it will enable the economy to grow with incorruptible govt officials.
