NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY Of USA
President Biden has worked out his administration’s new NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY for meeting the challenges from authoritarian regimes, which have no respect for human rights of their own citizens and who want to acquire power to influence the rest of the world. The new world, which they want to shape may consist of dictatorial regimes, where each of the dictators may crush the personal freedoms of the country over which she rules but she will talk as a representative of the poor and down-trodden of her country.
President Biden wants to move towards a World that is Free, Open, Prosperous, and Secure, where every citizen is empowered and where democratic nations work together harmoniously, even when each of the nations may have its own way of meeting the objectives of building a stronger and more effective democracy for its citizens.
President Biden’s strategy to achieve the above objectives is through reinvigorated America’s network of alliances and partnerships:
- NATO with new allies -Finland and Sweden
- AUKUS (Security Partnership with UK and Australia)
- Indo-Pacific QUAD (United States, Australia, India, and Japan)
- Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), launched in Tokyo by President Biden on 23rd May 2022 with Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Fiji India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam
- Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) launched by President Biden at the Summit of Americas on June 8, 2022; Los Angeles Declaration signed by USA, Canada and by Heads of State or the representatives of 18 Latin American and Caribbean nations
The Americas and the Caribbeans form an area with the highest GDP as compared with Europe or Asia or Africa. As such progress of Americas will have a positive impact on the lives of the people of the whole of the world.
The progress may not be linear since every nation has to carry the burden of its history. But it need not be as erratic as it sometimes seems to be through the prism of the following decisions:
- Grant of $450-million for updating the F-16 fleet of Pakistan, in the name of strengthening the anti-terror capacity of Pakistan. India feels that this grant is going to strengthen China-Pak axis of authoritarian regimes against democratic countries like India.

- Becoming an instrument for refurbishing the face of Qatar, well-known as a patron of radical Islamist organizations like Muslim Brotherhood all over the world.
