Tata Sons are going to merge Air India with Vistara, to create a full-service Air India and a low-cost Air India Express, in collaboration with Singapore Airline, according to a statement by the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons, Mr. Natarajan Chandrasekaran on Tuesday. The Singapore Airlines may invest up to $615 billion to acquire a stake of 25.1% stake in Air India. The merger will be completed by March 2024.
SIA Chief Executive Goh Choon Phong said,” We will work together to support Air India’s transformation programme, unlock its significant potential, and restore it to its position as a leading airline on the global stage.”
